At Your First Visit

What to expect at your First Visit:

Age 1 to 3: We will do a brief exam to check your child’s growth and development. We will then review preventative care, diet and fluoride recommendations with the parents.

Age 3 to 21: We will start with a cleaning, appropriate x-rays as needed, and fluoride treatment. We will then do an exam and review preventative care.

Age 21 and over: We have found it important to spend 1 to 2 hours with you on the first visit doing a comprehensive exam. This will include evaluating your jaw joints, muscles, oral cancer screening, condition of your teeth and existing restorations, gums and bone levels around teeth. X-rays, study models, and diagnostic photographs of your teeth may also be taken as needed. The level of cleaning appropriate for your needs will be determined and scheduled for the next visit. A treatment plan will be developed to help you achieve and maintain good oral health for a lifetime.
